Every ADR vehicle is required to have a wheel chock that is suitable for the size of the wheel and the mass of the vehicle. This wheel chock is manufactured using heavy-duty, anti-slip, non-sparking, and highly visible yellow plastic, which has been tested to meet DIN76051 standards. Its primary purpose is to prevent vehicles from moving during emergency situations. It is specifically designed to cater to larger vehicles such as LGVs, HGVs, and any vehicle weighing over 3.5 tons.
These vehicle chocks are mandatory as per Annex B Part 8 Section 1.5 of the current ADR Regulations. The regulations state that the transport unit must carry certain equipment, including a wheel chock for each vehicle. The wheel chock must be of a size that is suitable for the maximum mass of the vehicle and the diameter of the wheel.
